Note: We would like to inform you that RDS is a product from Intuit; Intuit has stopped development & bug fixes for this product. You may contact Intuit support if you are facing any issues on RDS. We may also be unable to provide much help on RDS ( if you face any issues). As the alternative to RDS, We kindly suggest you use QRemote( 32 / 64 bit). Please refer to the below article for more information: Company Path in RDS Client How to Assign Company File Path to RDS ClientInstructionsRDS allows the user to set DSN auto-log into QuickBooks. But there are a few differences from what we usually do to set QODBC auto-log into QuickBooks. This article is about how to set DSN to auto-log into QuickBooks in RDS. Get Local Company File Path from QuickBooksIn the server machine (the machine where you install QuickBooks and RDS Server), press the F2 key in QuickBooks, and you will see a QuickBooks detailed version window. In the file information, you can see the company file path on this machine. Copy it. Then turn to the Client machine (the machine where you install RDS Client and QODBC). Please input the path copied before into the "Local Company File" in the QODBC Setup screen on the client machine. It does not matter if the file path exists on the client machine or not, The file path mentioned on the QODBC setup screen is passed to RDS Client, and the RDS client sends it to RDS Server, and thus RDS Server will open the copy file on the server itself where the file path is valid. After the test connection is passed, you can now access QuickBooks in the server machine from the client machine even if QuickBooks is not running. Please refer to this article for more information. | |
