Solved:[QODBC-ALL] Troubleshooting - Windows cannot find fqqbsav.exe

Problem Description

Issue 1:

I just updated QODBC to the latest build, 349. When trying to connect to the QRemote DSN, I get the following error message.

Windows cannot find 'fqqbvsav.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

Issue 2:

I moved everything over to a new computer and upgraded to the latest QOCBC. I can't get the connection. The latest error is windows cannot find 'fqqbvsav.exe' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

Reason

The issue is caused when the QRemote Client driver cannot write to the folder.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\QODBC Driver for QuickBooks".

The issue is reported as bug/task ID: B01491. We are working on fixing the issue.

Solutions

Solution 1:

Open the QRemote Client DSN using the ODBC Data Source. Opening the DSN configuration will create/update necessary files in the QODBC folder.

This should fix the issue.

Please make sure you have logged into Windows as "Administrator".

QODBC Desktop

Start >>QODBC Driver for QuickBooks >> Configure 32-Bit QODBC Data Source >> Switch to the "System DSN" tab. Select the "QuickBooks Data QRemote" DSN >> Click "Configure". Close the DSN.

QODBC Online

Start >>QODBC Driver for QuickBooks Online >> Configure 32-Bit QODBC Online Data Source >> Switch to the "System DSN" tab. Select the "QuickBooks Online Data QRemote" DSN >> Click "Configure". Close the DSN.

QODBC POS

Start >>QODBC Driver for QuickBooks POS >> Configure 32-Bit QODBC POS Data Source >> Switch to the "System DSN" tab. Select the "QuickBooks POS Data QRemote" DSN >> Click "Configure". Close the DSN.

Please test your application now.

 Solution 2:

If the above solution does not work, it means you do not have permission to write to the QODBC folder in the program files.

Please contact your system administrator to either provide you with Read and Write access to the QODBC folder in the program files.
