Troubleshooting - Can I use QODBC without having QuickBooks installed?

Problem Description:

My clients give me a backup copy of their QuickBooks file. I don't have QuickBooks installed on my computer but would like to bring the data into Excel. Can I use QODBC without having QuickBooks installed?

No, sorry! QODBC uses QuickBooks SDK to access QuickBooks data & QuickBooks SDK is installed with QuickBooks application. So QuickBooks application requires for accessing QuickBooks data using QODBC.

Another option is you can QRemote to connect to QuickBooks located on the remote machine.
