Troubleshooting - QXL 80040409 Error

Problem Description:

I am trying to export data from QXL. But when I clicked on the QXL export button, I got the error message below.

The current version of QuickBooks cannot work with the specified company data file.

Error Occurred:[QODBC] QuickBooks Begin Session Failed. Error = 80040409, The current version of QuickBooks cannot work with the specified company data file.

Solution:

You may encounter the above error when your QuickBooks company file is updated to a higher version of QuickBooks and you are trying to use it in an older version of QuickBooks.

For Example:

If you try to open the QuickBooks 2017 company file in QuickBooks 2016 or a lower version, you will get the above error.

You can open QuickBooks company files in the same version or a higher version of QuickBooks. However, you can't open QuickBooks company files in older QuickBooks versions.
