Troubleshooting: QRemoteServer Not Connecting

Problem Description:

I am trying to set up QRemote on our server.

I have set this up on a local machine as a test server fine. But I am having issues getting this setup on our server.

When I configure a new ODBC source for the QRemote and enter all the info (Name, IP Address, Port) when I select the Remote DSN to drop down, it freezes on me and times out.

It will never load the Remote DSN from the server for me to select.

Solution:

Please make sure your firewall allows communicating to the IP address of QRemoteServer. Check if you are using the correct IP address of the remote machine.

Also, please ensure QRemote is bound to the same IP address you are using.

Please ensure the Version of QRemote on the Client machine is the same QRemote on Server Machine.

Try to restart the machine & check.

Please verify QODBC and QuickBooks are configured correctly.
