Troubleshooting: Error Calling Open QBConnection Returned Error: 10061 - 10061 Connection refused

Problem Description:

When doing a connection test using the "Test Connection" button in QODBC Setup Screen->General Window, QODBC reports this error:

Test Connection to Quick Books Failed

QODBC QB Begin Session Failed. Error Calling Open QBConnection Returned Error: 10061 - 10061 Connection refused

Display an online list of connection errors and their resolutions.

Problem Solution:

You first need to run Quick Books on your computer, log in as an Administrator, and open your company file or one of the sample company files that came with Quick Books ( Login as Admin - Single user mode),

If you are using "Remote Connector, "please ensure it's configured correctly. Here is the article about how to configure the Remote Connector:

If you have Desktop Edition of Quick Books and Not using the Online edition, Please uncheck(unselect) "Connect to Quick Books Online Edition" located at the "Online Edition" Tab on QODBC Setup Screen (or your DSN Configuration)

If you are not using RDS, Please uncheck(unselect) "Use RDS Client/Server" located at the "RDS Server" Tab on QODBC Setup Screen (or your DSN Configuration)
