Troubleshooting: Create DCOM Instance Error = 80070005, Unknown error. Created qbXMLRP2 OK.Problem Description:When trying to use SQL Server via QODBC, It reports the error like this: Create DCOM Instance Error = 80070005, Unknown error. Created qbXMLRP2 OK.
Solution:Please open your Services list window(services. msc), Search for your SQL Server service, right-click the server you are using, and click the "Property" option to view the server information.
In the "Log On" window, please check that you have set your server like ( NT Services\MSSQLSERVER ):
We believe that this is the reason for your problem. Please change your Server User like the screenshot below: (empty the password and confirm the password if using "Network Service" or Consult with your System/Network Administrator)
If that does not work for you, try using "Local System User":

Ah, hmm. Yes, setting the SQL service account to SYSTEM or an account with membership in Administrators local group gets this DCOM component working for me. Cannot use a non-privileged account for the SQL service apparently. Not ideal from a security point of view.
