[QODBC-Desktop] How to use QuickBooks Data remotely via Ibiz Connector
Posted by Juliet (QODBC Support) on 03 November 2009 07:11 AM

Note: Ibiz no longer offered an SSL socket (for web apps), so we went with Intuit's RDS component, but you can still use the ibiz connector if you do the followings.

Configuration of Client Machine

Make modifications to file odbcinst.ini

     The client machine that has QODBC installed on it locates the odbcinst.ini file. It should be in a directory:

     C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ QODBC Driver for QuickBooks

     Then make the following modification to the file (make a copy of it first):

     [QODBC Driver (32-bit)]
     Driver=C:\WINDOWS\System32\fqqb32.dll
     Setup=C:\WINDOWS\System32\fqqb32.dll
     32Bit=1
     UseOldRemoteConnector=Yes

QODBC Setup

     When you go into the QODBC setup screen, you should see a new tab, "Remote Connector." Also, ensure you uncheck Use RDS Client/Server on the RDS tab if you have checked that.

Configuration of Server Machine

Download Connector.EXE

      Go to: www.qodbc.com\download\RemoteConnector\connector.exe and download to the desktop of the server with QuickBooks.

Setup of using QuickBooks Data remotely via QODBC

      Follow the instructions per http://www.qodbc.com/QODBCremote.htm for setup.
