How to deactivate QODBC and How to transfer the license to a new computer

Deactivate QODBC from your computer

 

Note: You can activate the CDKEY on the new machine directly without deactivating it on the old one. When you activate the CDKEY / License on the new machine, QODBC will automatically deactivate the CDKEY on the previous machine.

 

If you are currently using the latest version of QODBC on the machine from which you wish to move your license, there is no need to deactivate the license before transferring it.

The latest version of QODBC supports automatic license migration. To move your license to a new machine, simply install QODBC on the new system and activate the license using your existing license credentials. Once the license is successfully activated on the new machine, it will be automatically deactivated on the old or current machine.

 

Alternatively, you can deactivate the CD key from the previous machine and activate it on the new machine.

You can deactivate the QODBC license from:

Start>>All Programs>> QODBC Driver for use with QuickBooks>> Configure QODBC Data Source

or

Start>>QODBC Driver for QuickBooks>> Configure 32-Bit QODBC Driver

 

Go To "System DSN" Tab>> select QuickBooks Data>> click "configure"

 

Switch to activate/deactivate tab >> click "deactivate"

 

 

     Enter your 16-digit CDKEY (with the - dashes) and click on the Deactivate button.

 

Phone Deactivation / Manual Deactivation

Note: Phone (Manual) Deactivation can be used for computers that do not have direct Internet access or where the automated deactivation fails.

 

      Copy the information from your computer screen (not the example shown here) into the image directly below and click on Process to generate a code to deactivate QODBC. Click on the Copy Information to the Clipboard button to save your CDKEY.

      If you have correctly entered your CDKEY, Request Code, and Software ID, your deactivation will now be processed. Click on the Phone button on the computer that has QODBC installed on it and copy and enter your Serial Number, Name, Request Code, and Deactivation Code from the above image, and click on the Deactivate button when done.

     If you have entered the information incorrectly, you will receive a "CDKEY not found" message.

 

     Clicking on the Deactivate button will generate a verification number.

 

 

     Copy the information from your computer screen (not the example shown here) into the image directly below and click on Process to confirm your deactivation of QODBC.

     Once you process your verification number, your copy of QODBC will then be successfully deactivated on your computer so that you can transfer the license to your new computer! See: How to activate QODBC to activate the license on your new computer.

     Click Cancel to exit the QODBC Setup screen.

Note: Using the latest version of QODBC, credit for deactivation CDKEY is received instantly.  Install the latest version of QODBC and activate your existing CDKEY. This will deactivate the CDKEY on the older machine and activate it on the new one. In some cases, your deactivation may take 24 to 48 hours to process, depending on your region and license pack.

Troubleshooting

Question

     I don't want to deactivate the other computer because we need 2 systems running. Doesn't that mean that I must repurchase another license, or is there another option?

Answer

     QODBC is licensed to each computer. When you purchase a single-user license, you are licensed to use the product on one computer only. If you need to run two computers, you need to purchase another copy.  For contact information, click here.

 

Question

     I lost my CDKEY how to find my CDKEY.

Answer

To retrieve the CDKEY, please follow these steps:

On purchasing a QODBC license, CDKEY and your purchase information is sent to your registered email address. Please search your email history for the email from "qodbc.com" to know about your license information. You can additionally search for "fastspring" in your email box.


The CDKEY is normally emailed to you at the time of purchase.
Search for terms such as “RegCode” or “FastSpring” if you haven’t found it yet.
(If you still can’t locate it, the support ticket will be the next step.)


Create a support ticket

Go to the ticket submission page:
https://support.flexquarters.com/esupport/index.php?/Tickets/Submit
In the ticket, select the department “Sales – Registration – Activation.”
Include the following details:

Your email address used for the purchase
Date of purchase (if known)

Serial Number (if known)
A brief note that you have lost the CDKEY

 
Once the ticket is submitted, a support engineer will review your
request and provide the CDKEY or further instructions.    

 

Error Messages and Solutions.

Auto license switching failed means the older machine is not using the latest version of QODBC or you have exceeded the number of auto license switching. Please deactivate the license from the old machine. If the machine is not available, please raise a support ticket with us.   

Activation not on file means QODBC is unable to deactivate the license due to some changes to your machine hardware. Please raise a support ticket with us to resolve the issue.

I deactivated on one computer and then attempted to activate it on another machine however I am told that the CDKey has been used already. Now what?

How can I recover my license, seems that I uninstalled before deactivated the license. And know when I try to use it sends a message notifying the license is exhausted
