Troubleshooting - Error: 1000 - There has been an internal error when processing the request

Problem Description:

I get a very strange error... I have a development system and a dummy QB file (copy of the company file) that runs fine. However, when I move the code over to our production server (with the master copy of the QuickBooks company file), I get a "[QODBC] Error" the first time my program tries to make a Connection using QODBC to the QuickBooks data file and "[QODBC] Error: 1000 - There has been an internal error when processing the request" if I try to make the connection again right away????

Solution:

The first thing to check is that the account used by QODBC is the Admin account and not a QuickBooks user account. The exception error is a known Intuit qbXML SDK bug caused by either not having full access to QuickBooks or throwing too many requests simultaneously. Try keeping the connection open longer in your application.
