<p>QODBC stopped working this morning, and I got a message that / License verification is required.&nbsp; I opened License Sync and hit the "Sync Now" button. It seems like something might be happening, but I get no message of any sort popping up, and QODBC still has the message that license sync needs to be run. How can I resolve this?</p>

<p>I'm trying to activate my desktop to read/write the version of QODBC. <br />The activation is being attempted on a new pc since the original installation pc has been decommissioned.</p>
<p>The QODBC product was deactivated on the original pc around&nbsp;two days ago.</p>
<p>When attempting to activate QODBC on the new platform, I get a message indicating that the Authorized quantity has been exhausted for the given CD key.</p>
<p>I pulled the old machine out of our recycle storage, tried to deactivate the license again, and got a message saying that there was no record of an activation (unregistered).</p>
<p>My QuickBooks&nbsp;development is at a standstill until I can get this issue resolved.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; When I looked in the "About" tab on the QODBC "QuickBooks Data" ODBC source, it says "QODBC Desktop Read Write 2008," then underneath it says "Version 10.00.00.269". The main QODBC web page says "QODBC Driver Version 10.0 for QuickBooks 2010," so the two agree on the QODBC version (10) but not on the version of QuickBooks "Manufacturing &amp; Wholesale 10.0,". And when running their VBDEMO32.EXE program, then create a connection to the open QuickBooks and run this query: <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; SELECT * FROM EstimateLine <br />That successfully returns rows, so I know the connection's working, the QODBC's working, etc. <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I'm then trying to update those rows to change the due date to 2010. I'm using the following UPDATE statement, still in VBDEMO32: <br />UPDATE EstimateLine SET DueDate = {d '2010-03-25'} WHERE TemplateRefFullName = 'ACL Quote' AND CustomFieldEstimateLineOther1 &gt; '0' AND DueDate = {d '2009-03-25'} <br />This is returning the "requires DESKTOP" message. So, I can still read from the database but not write to it.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The version of QuickBooks licenses QODBC. It sounds like you are licensed for Read-Write up to QuickBooks 2008. You are running QuickBooks 2010, so you must purchase a new license for QODBC to read and write for 2010. That can be purchased at <a href="http://www.qodbc.com">www.qodbc.com</a>. I think a rebate is still available for existing customers, but that runs out soon. So you have the correct version of QODBC, but you need a version 2010 license to update QuickBooks. <p><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I Installed a FlexODBC Driver and activated using the CDKEY. However, while I was trying to develop a multi-threading program in which multiple threads can read the database simultaneously, I got strange ODBC driver windows pop up saying "Demo Expired" and asking me to activate it again. Does that mean the driver does not support multi-threading or do I have to do some special things to use it under ADO.NET?</span></p>
<h3><span style="color: #0066cc; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Solutions</span></h3>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The way to get the component to behave correctly in ASP.net is to include that attribute, <strong>'ASPCompat=True,'</strong> in the calling page's page directive. FlexODBC requires the use of the STA (single-threaded-apartment) threading model.</span></p>
