Troubleshooting - Default value of Windows User Access Control (UAC).

Problem Description:

What should be the Default Windows User Access Control (UAC)?

Solution:

The QODBC Driver for QuickBooks runs differently under Microsoft Vista/W7 than other versions of Windows because of its new strict security settings.

UAC (User Account Control): This new technology in Windows Vista has been used to improve system security. It asks all users permission to run programs and tasks under a standard account module. It can prevent the installation of programs without authentication and contain an inappropriate system setup change from a regular user.

Please open the Windows start menu and type or search for "Windows User Access Control" (UAC)

Please set the default value of Windows User Access Control (UAC) to the following (as per your Windows Operating system edition).

Windows 10 and Windows 11

Windows 7

Start -> Control Panel -> User Account -> Open "User Account Control" (UAC) -> Change User Account Controls
