Troubleshooting: QuickBooks (Canada Version) won't start

Problem Description

     When opening the CA QuickBooks multi-currency edition, you get an error message that reads, "This application has failed to start because stlport_r50.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Solutions

     To fix this problem, please follow the steps below. Note: If you are using Windows Vista, the following steps must be completed by a user who is an Administrator. Here are the steps needed to fix QuickBooks.

     1. Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe) - Download link provided below.

         File Size: 2.52 MB

     2. Download stlport_r50.dll and copy it into the folder called c:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit\QuickBooks. The link is provided below.

This is great news. Quickbooks is the greatest. I have had my fair share of isesus with it, but by going to the third party client OneClickStatements , working with Quickbooks has been all good.

I am using Windows XP and i am facing the same problem . When i try to open QB , this message appears:
"This application has failed to start because stlport_r50.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
can u suggest a solution
